Afterglow

6 piece video and sound installation 

Afterglow is destruction, the absence of light, explored through the relationship between time, space, and light, as seen through the lens of personal physical transformation. Drawing from themes of distortion, dystopia, and the human body, I reflect the alienation I feel from my body due to ongoing illness. Using digital media techniques such as data moshing, AI, and digital distortion, I create still and moving imagery that visually represents the uncomfortable, shifting nature of my physical and mental state, distorting the familiar into the unfamiliar to express a body that no longer feels like mine.
